The GORE® ACUSEAL Vascular Graft is a low-bleed, tri-layer vascular graft that includes an elastomeric middle membrane between inner and outer layers of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE). It hinders suture line and cannulation needle bleeding. In addition, the GORE® ACUSEAL Device is seroma resistant – and may help to reduce pseudoaneurysm formation.
The GORE® ACUSEAL Vascular Graft possesses the same unmatched graft handling characteristics consistent with all Gore vascular grafts. Not only is it kink resistant, it is flexible at curves. Its continuous luminal surface facilitates ease of tunneling and revisions, while allowing for precise suturing and anastomotic tailoring.
The GORE® ACUSEAL Vascular Graft is cannulation-capable within 24 hours. Because the device offers a potential alternative to catheter placement, it expands treatment options.
The ePTFE luminal surface of the GORE® ACUSEAL Vascular Graft incorporates CARMEDA® BioActive Surface (CBAS® Surface). This proprietary end-point covalently bonded heparin technology is anchored to the graft surface and imparts proven thromboresistant properties to the vascular graft, while achieving sustained bioactivity*. Importantly, the stable, bioactive heparin surface experiences minimal heparin elution within the first 24 hours.
The GORE® ACUSEAL Vascular Graft offers an extra layer of self-sealing and uncompromised handling.
*Sustained CBAS® Surface heparin bioactivity has been measured in a controlled three month animal study.
