GORE MYCROMESH® PLUS Biomaterial is the first hernia repair material with antimicrobial technology for controlling potential operative contamination of the material. This advanced ePTFE biomaterial contains two antimicrobial preservative agents, silver carbonate and chlorhexidine diacetate, which act to inhibit microbial colonization of, and resist initial biofilm formation on the patch for up to 14 days post-implantion. It also offers all the performance advantages of GORE MYCROMESH® Biomaterial, such as rapid host tissue incorporation and minimal foreign body response.
