GORE® SEAMGUARD® Bioabsorbable Staple Line Reinforcement is specifically engineered to reduce the incidence of perioperative leaks and bleeding in a variety of open and minimally invasive surgeries. It adds a consistent, strong yet thin 0.50mm reinforcement to the staple line that mechanically increases the strength of the resection line by evenly distributing the staple pressure exerted on the tissue over a wider surface area.

Constructed from Polyglycolic acid:Trimethylene carbonate (PGA:TMC), a medically proven biocompatible copolymer, GORE® SEAMGUARD® Bioabsorbable Staple Line Reinforcement is composed of a matrix of open, highly interconnected pores facilitating cell infiltration, tissue generation, growth and healing.

While providing added strength to the staple line during the critical healing process, this reinforcement is gradually and predictably absorbed, usually within six months. The risk of a prolonged inflammatory response is eliminated.
