Frequently Asked Questions about GORE® ACUSEAL Cardiovascular Patch

Do I need to prep the patch before using? Generally patches are stored in the areas where the temperature is cool and thus may stiffen up. To improve handling, allow the patch to warm up (i.e. soaked in warm saline or water), it will soften and be easier to contour. Does the GORE® ACUSEAL Cardiovascular Patch bleed less than the competition? Surgeons have reported that bleeding times are equivalent if not better than bovine collagen coated/sealed DACRON® material.
