Gore Again Named One of the 100 Best Companies to Work For®

Every year since 1998: That’s how long W. L. Gore & Associates has appeared on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® list

Newark, Del. (March 3, 2016) — Every year since 1998: That's how long W. L. Gore & Associates has appeared on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® list, making the company one of a select few included in every edition of the rankings. Gore earned the No. 12 spot on the 2016 list, announced today.

"This recognition is a testament to the vision and the lasting impact of our company founders, who created a work environment where innovation and creativity thrive," said Gore CEO Terri Kelly. "We invest continued energy into nurturing this company culture, which has played a key role in engaging our associates and driving our business results for nearly 60 years. It's one of our greatest competitive advantages."

Since its founding in 1958, Gore has cultivated a corporate culture that fosters the innovative spirit of individuals and teams. The company's 10,000-plus associates worldwide play an active role in choosing what they work on and defining their career paths. There is no need to operate through chains of command, and decisions are based on knowledge rather than seniority.

This work environment has led to thousands of innovations that make the world a better place—products that protect explorers atop the world's highest peaks, communicate data from Mars to Earth, remove harmful toxins from the air we breathe, treat life-threatening medical conditions and solve other complex problems.

Gore was selected among hundreds of companies vying for the 2016 Best Companies list. Applicant companies participate in a selection process that includes an employee survey and an in-depth questionnaire about their programs and company practices. The Great Place to Work® Institute—which created the methodology behind the list—evaluates each application based on five dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.

Great Place to Work® has found that employees believe they work for great organizations when they consistently trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do and enjoy the people they work with.

"Now more than ever, it is important for companies to prove they are great workplaces," said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work®. "Top talent expects as much as they seek new opportunities, and customers are demanding it as well as they decide where to spend their dollars. The 100 Best workplaces are at the top of the heap in demonstrating they have a high-trust, high-performing culture."
