Gore Selects New International Distribution Partner for the GORE® VIABIL® Biliary Endoprosthesis for Endoscopic Placement
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (October 6, 2025)—W. L. Gore & Associates’ (Gore) medical products business has selected Olympus Corporation (Olympus) as the exclusive international distributor of the GORE® VIABIL® Biliary Endoprosthesis for endoscopic placement. Gore and Olympus bring together talent and technology to elevate the standard of care, sharing a history of delivering innovative interventional therapeutic products to improve patient outcomes.
The GORE® VIABIL® Biliary Endoprosthesis for endoscopic placement is a fully covered self-expanding metal stent offering a differentiated alternative to relieve symptoms associated with biliary strictures.* Unique anti-migration technology featuring atraumatic† anchoring fins reduces the risk of migrations and associated reinterventions.1 An easy-to-use delivery system and non-foreshortening‡ design enables accurate deployment positioning.
The GORE® VIABIL® Biliary Endoprosthesis for endoscopic placement will allow Olympus to offer customers an even more comprehensive gastrointestinal (GI) product range around the globe. Olympus will have international distribution rights of the GORE® VIABIL® Biliary Endoprosthesis for endoscopic placement and will begin commercialization efforts starting in Europe and phasing in other countries over time.
